“What drives me is music and my desire to make other people smile. That is why I want to study music therapy in college. The field of music therapy I want to do is working with children who have disabilities like autism, children who are nonverbal, or other developmental disabilities. These kids are often isolated from the rest of their school community, which is unnecessary. Through music, I want to help those children refine their motor skills, rehearse sounds they have trouble forming and making, learn to communicate in ways they could not before, learn concepts, and so much more all through music. What drives me is the passion for music and the awe I find in its therapeutic qualities.”
